It is important to note that these steps on how to format a laptop would focus on Windows 10 and 11, respectively. Let’s get started:

Before you start formatting, it’s important to back up your data. Why? This is because formatting erases everything on your laptop. You wouldn’t want to lose those important documents or cherished photos, would you?

To back up your data, you can make use of an external hard drive. You can transfer all your data to that hard drive or an external hard drive before formatting. This method is straightforward and effective.

Another suggestion is that you can back up your data in the cloud. For example, platforms like Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox allow you to store files online. One advantage of this is that it is convenient and accessible from anywhere.
